Freedom - 6”x6” on MDF Panel

This one-of-a-kind Mixed Media artwork sees a background consisting of layers of acrylic paint in grey and white along with Walnut Ink, with touches of black towards the edges. Further texture and detail appear with free flow script in white paint and marks in black. This media is on watercolour paper which was subsequently mounted to MDF panel. A stamped feather is the focal image on this artwork. The feather was originally hand-carved by Lynne before That’s Crafty produced it, alongside other hand-carved stamps by Lynne, into the stamp set Nature’s Gatherings. Stamped onto blue/grey handmade paper, it is layered to a strip of chiffon style fabric with dots formed with black ink and subsequently layered to a tag lightly stained with Walnut Ink. This area has details of vintage button, stained twine attached with mini stapler and the word Freedom, stamped onto fragment of Walnut Ink stained cardstock. Tucked behind this tag, a circle of painted paper which could be a representation of the moon or earth. 

Artwork is finished with cold wax medium
