Wisdom, Strength, Silence - 8” x 8” Wall Art

This mixed media, one-of-a-kind artwork by Lynne Moncrieff has an almost primitive, earthy quality to it with the layers of paint and Walnut Ink on watercolour paper providing an organic appearance, as though from the earth.  A stamped element is supported with dried leaves and on the other side of this image, three circles cut from painted teabag paper. This is all grounded by a strip of painted Khadi cotton rag paper with pierced holes providing visual and textural interest.  The stamped words:- wisdom, strength, silence were words which resonated as I studied the collage, knowing I wanted the inclusion of words. Finally, this collage has the addition of a twig.

Collage is sealed with cold wax medium.
