A Time For Renewal 8”x 8” on MDF Panel

This one-of-a-kind Mixed Media artwork comprises cotton rag paper (adhered to MDF panel) with application of walnut ink and pastels to create a smoky background with areas of light and dark. The focal of this panel is a stamped image of a woman onto found paper layered with scraps of handmade paper, painted muslin and painted cotton rag paper with the image layered to panel with dried fern and flower embellished with a butterfly image. On the right side of the panel are two butterflies which are images printed onto rice paper with a cut out circle of painted paper, embellished with pearl button, between them and the stamped word renewal.

Overall this piece of art has a lightness to it and could be viewed as a message of renewal for self or simply a time for renewal within the changing season.
