Botanicals 6” x 6” on MDF Panel

This one-of-a-kind Mixed Media artwork on MDF panel comprises layers of cotton rag and Lokta paper machine stitched together.  A subtle loose wash of pearl black ink creates a diffused appearance of colour as the black softens to grey with a delicate touch of marks from walnut ink on the Lokta paper, creating pattern to the paper more than staining. Onto walnut ink-stained round tag, the Dried Botanical stamp with machine stitching over the flower stem, allowing thread tails to hang loose. Details on this artwork include a piece of Mica tile over the stamped flower head, the word Botanicals stamped onto painted card scrap and a touch of walnut ink splatters. This panel is attached by eco dyed string to a twig.
