In Nature 4”x9” on MDF Panel

This Mixed Media, one-of-a-kind artwork on an MDF panel, comprises layers of tissue paper painted with Gesso and acrylic paint topped with handmade paper painted with inks including touches of bronze pearl ink which catches the light beautifully. Onto a fragment of coffee-stained calico, stencilled relief design with texture paste, layered with button to a piece of muslin. The main focal sits atop this, a stamped bird, based on an original handcarved stamp of mine, stamped onto walnut ink-stained circle. Below this focal, a dried, pressed leaf layered with handmade papers and the tiniest piece of coffee-stained muslin stitched to the leaf with a single naïve stitch with black thread to tie in with the black thread behind the focal circle.
