Leaf Approx 6”x 8.5” on MDF Panel

This one-of-a-kind Mixed Media artwork comprises painted watercolour paper onto MDF panel. The watercolour paper has a fluid, organic appearance from the application of various media including Lustre Sprays, subtle hints of walnut ink and Interference Gold paint with the contrast of black edges. For the collage element, a dried leaf embellished with vintage button, sits atop a stained piece of distressed cardstock before layering onto papers such as stained rice paper and waxed stained paper with pieces of stained canvas and a fragment of eco dyed fabric. Machine stitching and tiny pieces of stamped papers bring further interest. Although surrounded by the various textures and layers, the dried leaf is very much central to this piece and where the eye is drawn.
