Pausing In Her Flight Awhile - 8” x 8” on MDF Panel

This one-of-a-kind Mixed Media artwork sees layers of Acrylic Paint and Acrylic Inks on freezer paper mounted to MDF panel. Torn pieces from stained paper form elements on upper left alongside the word “pausing”. The remainder text, “in her flight awhile”, rests below the focal of this artwork, a focal of stained shipping tags (the stained strings remain on the tags for visual and textural interest), torn for distressed appearance, with butterfly stamped onto an acrylic tile, allowing the viewer a peek at the beautiful script stamped onto the tag beneath. A final, torn piece of stained paper creates a grounding.

A reflective tone to this artwork, reminding us that as we go about our day, no matter how frantic, find moments to pause, just as the butterfly does.
