The Flight of a Feather - 6.5” x 6.4” approx. Free standing Diptych

This Mixed Media one-of-a-kind artwork is a substrate of two MDF tags, sizes 3.2” x 6.4”, bound together with fabric tape to form a diptych which is free-standing. Both sides of each tag are covered with watercolour paper prepared with Pearl Inks and Walnut Ink. The rear side sees touches of Bronze Pearl ink and the open side of the diptych, touches of Interference Gold paint, which catch the light beautifully. This is quite a dimensional piece. On left side panel, the stamped words “The flight of a feather” is attached with mini safety pin to painted paper fragment and walnut ink stained muslin all resting on painted circle with two painted greyboard feathers, attached with black thread, resting on upper corner. For the other panel, a larger, painted greyboard feather, rests upon a painted circle with painted paper and stained muslin. The addition of dimensional, painted circles echo the pattern of the inky splattered dots in the background. This artwork is a tribute to the beauty of feathers.
