When We Are Growing 8” x 8” on MDF Panel

Layers of white Gesso, acrylic paint and the subtle sheen from pearl inks in black, copper and bronze, create the background for this one-of-a-kind Mixed Media artwork with the focal of a chipboard flower resting on chipboard circle. The circle has muted wash of walnut ink and pearl inks with repeat stamping of the words “we are happy when we are growing”, with the chipboard flower loosely painted with the same media with a dip pen and ink outlining the shape. The word stamp appears again, this time on the background and resting above this, a fragment of muslin stained with walnut ink and black pearl ink with rusted safety pin.
